The Mini Implant Process
What Are Mini Dental Implants?
Smaller than a traditional dental implant, mini implants are usually about half of the size of traditional implants. They often can be placed with a less invasive treatment, and can be used even if your jaw bone has deteriorated due to tooth loss. Dr. Johnson uses mini implants to help hold loose dentures in position or to replace missing teeth.

Implant Solutions
From regular check-ups to bridges and mini dental implants, our caring professionals will treat your family’s dental health needs throughout your lives.
Replacing a single tooth with a single tooth implant does not endanger the health of the neighboring teeth. Dental implants integrate with your jawbone, helping to keep the bone healthy and intact. An implant will replace your tooth root, keeping the bone better preserved.
Individual implants can also replace several missing teeth. Several missing teeth can also be replaced with individual implants. With this method, a dental implant will be placed at the site of each missing tooth, providing ideal replicas of your lost teeth. Multiple teeth may be restored with an implant bridge, which is a prosthetic comprised of three or more crown units, depending upon the number of missing teeth.
Making your loose dentures tight and comfortable is one of the most rewarding and exciting new procedures in dentistry today. In many cases, it’s the best way to utilize mini implants.
Mini dental implants provide denture patients with the ability to eat, smile, and speak with confidence. In this procedure, 4-6 dental implants can be placed and your dentures can be fitted over the implants. Patients leave the office with stable dentures that can be used right away.
In addition, placement of these implants results in little to no postoperative discomfort. Mini implants are also a great option for those struggling with denture glue or those with a sensitive gag reflex. Many patients who were not candidates for conventional implants because they didn’t have enough bone or because of finances are now mini dental implant candidates.
A semi-removable dental bridge is a bridge that is secured into place by connecting to your mini implants and is not cemented into place but can only be removed by Dr. Johnson. The placement of a semi-removable bridge involves placing between 6-10 mini implants into the jawbone. The bridge, made of hybrid resin or zirconia, will then snap onto the ball-shaped heads of the implants for a secure fit that doesn’t shift around and doesn’t feel bulky.
The Fixed Roundhouse Zirconia Bridge involves placement of between 10-12 implants, determined by the bone volume and bone quality. The final bridge is tried in for patient comfort and aesthetic approval and then cemented in place. You no longer need to worry about your teeth moving or falling out because this is a cemented zirconia bridge.
